One Person Suffers Leg Fracture Injury
A tourist helicopter flying over Colombian airspace suddenly crashed, and the moment was captured on video. All six people on board, including the pilot and tourists, miraculously survived.
On the 28th (local time), foreign media such as 'Metro News' highlighted the footage of the helicopter crash that took off from Medell?n, Colombia's second-largest city. The helicopter, carrying one pilot and five tourists, reportedly began descending abruptly shortly after takeoff.
The video shows the helicopter spinning uncontrollably and flipping over. It is reported that the helicopter crashed near a nearby restaurant building.
The chaotic situation inside the helicopter at the time of the accident was also recorded. American tourist Francisco Salas reportedly called emergency services, requesting rescue in both Spanish and English. He is said to have urgently explained, "The helicopter is falling from a high altitude. We are waiting for the police and rescue teams."
He also sensed the crisis and contacted his parents to say goodbye and express gratitude. However, all six occupants of the helicopter miraculously survived. Among them, only one sustained a minor leg fracture.
Meanwhile, the helicopter involved in the crash was a 'Bell 206' model manufactured by the American helicopter company Bell, known as a small helicopter that can typically stay airborne for 12 to 15 minutes. Local investigative authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
