New Squirrel Bus Route Established in Gangdong-gu... Service Starts March 11

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced that customized (Daramswi) bus number 8332 will operate starting March 11 to improve traffic congestion during rush hours.

Bus number 8332 will run during rush hours (6:30 AM to 9:15 AM) from Godeok Gangil 2 District (stop name: Gangdong Riverst Shopping Center), passing through Sangil-dong Station, Godeok Station, Amsa Station, and operating up to Cheonil Elementary School Intersection.

With the establishment of this new customized (Daramswi) bus route 8332, it is expected that traffic congestion and user inconvenience during rush hours between Godeok Gangil 2 District and Sangil-dong Station, as well as between Godeok Station and Amsa Station, will be partially alleviated.

So far, Gangdong-gu has continuously consulted with related organizations such as Seoul City to meet the rapidly increasing public transportation demand due to large-scale housing development projects and industrial complexes like Godeok Biz Valley, and to ease traffic congestion during commuting hours by establishing and adjusting city bus routes and introducing customized buses. As a result, this new customized (Daramswi) bus route was successfully introduced.

In particular, the existing owl bus, which operated only at night, was utilized to run this service without additional increases in the number of buses.

Mayor Lee Soo-hee of Gangdong-gu said, “We expect that the operation of the customized (Daramswi) bus will significantly improve bus usage conditions for residents during rush hours,” adding, “We are doing our best to build transportation infrastructure such as reorganizing bus routes in response to increased transportation demand following the opening of Amsa Station Park Station and the settlement of companies in Godeok Biz Valley. We will continue to focus on solving transportation issues that residents can feel directly.”
