Signing of Agreement for Goheung Doyang 'Kkumssiat Savings Account Support Project'

Achieving a Population of 100,000, Spreading a Warmth-Sharing Culture Between Public and Private Sectors

The Community Security Council of Doyang-eup, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Public Chairman Shin Junsik, Private Chairman Jang Jongsil) held a signing ceremony for the '2024 Dream Seed Savings Account Support Project' on the 27th at the Doyang-eup Office meeting room with MG Nokdong Saemaeul Geumgo (Chairman Lee Gwangwoo) and the Goheung-gun Social Welfare Council (Chairman Kim Kyungsoo).

The Dream Seed Savings Account Support Project is a specialized initiative promoted by the Doyang-eup Community Security Council (hereafter, the Council) to achieve a population of 100,000 in Goheung by 2030 and to spread a culture of warmth sharing.

The project started with the hope that by providing 100,000 KRW to children within 12 months of birth registered in Doyang-eup, it would help cultivate their saving habits and serve as a seed money to realize their dreams.

Since its inception in 2020, the Dream Seed Savings Account Support Project has created an opportunity to foster a culture of donation through the practice of sharing by local institutions and to expand the scope of welfare projects through public-private cooperation. So far, savings accounts have been provided to 90 newborns in Doyang-eup, contributing to increasing the population of Goheung-gun.

The main agreement details are that the Doyang-eup Council will identify eligible recipients and provide project guidance, Saemaeul Geumgo will support funding and open savings accounts, and the Social Welfare Council will manage the funds and issue donation receipts.

At the signing ceremony, Lee Gwangwoo, Chairman of MG Nokdong Saemaeul Geumgo, donated 4.5 million KRW for the 'Dream Seed Savings Account' and 2 million KRW for the 'Goheung-gun Jomdori Fundraising.'

Attending the event, Lee Gwangwoo, Chairman of Saemaeul Geumgo, said, “I am honored to contribute even a little to achieving a population of 100,000 in Goheung by 2030, and I feel rewarded that the Jomdori fundraising donation provides an opportunity to practice warmth sharing. I hope this agreement will serve as a good opportunity for public and private sectors to work together to improve local welfare.”
