Amid foreign buying momentum, the KOSPI index is rising in early trading on the 28th.
As of 9:58 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI index was trading at 2,632.11, up 7.06 points (0.27%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2,629.11, up 4.06 points (0.15%), and has continued its upward trend. Foreign investors purchased 51.5 billion KRW, institutions bought 15.3 billion KRW, while individuals sold 60.6 billion KRW alone.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, SK Hynix (2.41%), POSCO Holdings (2.34%), POSCO Future M (1.94%), Samsung SDI (1.44%), and Samsung C&T (1.36%) rose in that order. Conversely, Meritz Financial Group (-3.98%), Samsung Life Insurance (-2.28%), KB Financial Group (-2.08%), Hyundai Motor (-1.89%), and Kakao (-1.58%) declined.
By sector, General Electric & Electronics (7.63%), Finance (4.05%), Semiconductors (2.43%), and Broadcasting Services (2.16%) are rising. On the other hand, Pharmaceuticals (-0.85%), Paper & Wood (-0.74%), Telecommunications Equipment (-0.44%), Transportation (-0.23%), and Construction (-0.12%) sectors are falling.
On the 27th (local time) at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 96.82 points (0.25%) at 38,972.41. The large-cap focused S&P 500 index rose 8.65 points (0.17%) to 5,078.18, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq index closed up 59.05 points (0.37%) at 16,035.30.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index rose 13.07 points (1.53%) to 866.82. The index opened at 859.78, up 6.03 points (0.71%), and extended its gains. Foreign investors purchased 83.7 billion KRW, institutions bought about 2.6 billion KRW, while individuals net sold about 88.5 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Sinseong Delta Tech (14.44%), Jusung Engineering (11.68%), EcoPro BM (10.36%), EcoPro (5.53%), EO Technics (5.50%), Classys (3.46%), L&F (3.05%), and SM Entertainment (2.95%) rose in that order. Conversely, Enchem (-4.22%), Alteogen (-3.62%), HLB (-2.25%), Celltrion Pharm (-0.86%), and LS Materials (-0.86%) declined.
