The Korea International Logistics Association announced on the 28th that it held the "2024 Korea International Logistics Association General Assembly" at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Conference Room on the 27th and re-elected Chairman Won Je-cheol as the 12th chairman.

Chairman Won, who was unanimously recommended at the 4th Board of Directors meeting on December 14 last year, was the sole candidate for chairman and was appointed with the consent of the member companies attending the general assembly, thus serving as the 12th chairman following his 11th term. He is expected to lead the association for three years until February 2027.

Chairman Won has previously served as Chairman of Giant Network Group, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Logistics Association, and the 11th Chairman of the Korea International Logistics Association. Last year, he received the "Logistics Award Industrial Medal."

In his inaugural speech, Chairman Won stated, “During the past term, the association has promoted institutional improvement projects, member support projects, external cooperation projects, publicity projects, international events, and social contribution activities, and I will strengthen and expand these efforts.” He added, “First and foremost, we will actively pursue the revision of the Basic Logistics Policy Act and the enactment of a special law to overcome the limitations of the international logistics brokerage service industry and to industrialize the logistics sector.”

Chairman Won further emphasized, “We will strive for cooperation and promotion of institutional improvements through hosting parliamentary forums, conducting research projects, strengthening external cooperation, and holding regular meetings with government agencies.”
