Byun Young-hoon Appointed as Vice President of Audit Division at Samjong KPMG

On the 28th, Samjong KPMG held a management committee meeting and announced that “Byun Young-hoon has been appointed as the new head of the audit division”. This appointment will officially take effect from April 1.

Deputy Head Byun, born in 1970, graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and also completed graduate studies at the same university. Since joining KPMG in 1995, he has been recognized as an ‘audit expert’ with extensive audit experience across various industries including manufacturing, construction, and pharmaceuticals & bio. He also has international experience, having been seconded to KPMG USA’s New York and St. Louis offices and participated in KPMG Global’s IFRS topic team.

He has played a broad role in audit quality, from establishing systems and procedures for improving audit quality in the Quality Management Office, and was awarded a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for his contributions to enhancing accounting transparency.

A Samjong KPMG official stated, “He was selected as the head of the audit division not only for his outstanding expertise recognized by corporate clients and the capital market but also for his excellent leadership and audit quality capabilities.”
