On the 28th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor held the first regular meeting of the year with the 2030 youth advisory group, representing the MZ generation, at the Seoul Employment and Labor Office.
On this day, the advisory group announced the new "Four Pillars of Youth Policy Tasks for Tomorrow" to be carried out throughout the year. This year, a new Organizational Culture Subcommittee was established, reorganizing the structure into four subcommittees: Employment, Labor, Industrial Safety, and Organizational Culture.
The Employment Subcommittee selected discovering supplementary measures for regional youth job projects as its task; the Labor Subcommittee focused on gathering opinions and suggestions from the youth generation regarding labor reform; the Industrial Safety Subcommittee proposed policies for win-win cooperation between large and small-to-medium enterprises in industrial safety; and the Organizational Culture Subcommittee was tasked with presenting ideas to spread youth-friendly workplace culture.
The newly established Organizational Culture Subcommittee decided to promote a workplace culture that young people want to join, where it is good to work and safe.
The Employment Subcommittee will work on various youth job projects to expand opportunities for regional youth; the Labor Subcommittee will consider the future labor market that young people desire; and the Industrial Safety Subcommittee will explore cooperative measures to improve safety management levels in small and medium-sized workplaces where many young people work.
During the meeting, the results of last year's comprehensive integrity evaluation of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the youth-proposed measures to improve integrity were also discussed. With the expansion of youth advisors in the Ministry from one to two, the head of the 2030 advisory group will be Im Sohyeong, the existing youth advisor, and the deputy head will be Gong Byeonghun, the newly appointed youth advisor.
Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jeongsik, who attended the meeting, stated, "We will support the implementation of the Four Pillars of Youth Policy Tasks, including youth-friendly workplace culture, which the 2030 advisory group members have directly deliberated and established, so that these initiatives can be led by the youth themselves."
