DevSisters announced on the 28th that it has signed a publishing contract with Krafton for the mobile game 'Cookie Run' in India.
Through this contract, both companies will collaborate to service Cookie Run across India by concretizing game service and content localization strategies. The operation and development related to the local service of Cookie Run will be exclusively handled by Studio Kingdom, a subsidiary of DevSisters. Co-CEOs of Studio Kingdom, Jo Gil-hyun and Lee Eun-ji, will directly lead this project as the overall heads of the initiative to target this emerging market.
Cookie Run is a key title that led the birth and early growth of the intellectual property (IP) since its debut on Kakao Games in 2013. Through this contract, DevSisters aims to expand the awareness of the Cookie Run game and IP into new markets and promote the expansion of overseas revenue bases. Krafton plans to leverage its know-how from the success of 'Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)' in India to lead the successful local service of Cookie Run and expand its publishing lineup in the Indian market.
Co-CEO Jo Gil-hyun stated, "DevSisters is prioritizing expanding its influence and achieving results in new markets this year by focusing on core businesses and customer experience," adding, "With Studio Kingdom at the center, we plan to reestablish the existing influence of Cookie Run and broaden its base into the Indian market through this collaboration with Krafton, leading to an additional leap for the IP."
