The police will conduct a special crackdown on motorcycle gangs on March 1st.

The police plan to identify expected areas of motorcycle gang activity in advance through habitual appearance locations, 112 emergency call analysis, and social networking services (SNS), and will deploy officers intensively to these areas to carry out proactive prevention activities such as preemptive blocking.

In addition, they will collect evidence of illegal reckless driving using portable camcorders and black boxes, and even if motorcycle gang members flee the scene, they plan to apprehend them through follow-up investigations.

Since the 2000s, motorcycle gangs have been rampant on holidays such as March 1st and Liberation Day, but most disappeared due to nationwide crackdowns. However, recently, with the easing of quarantine measures and the return to normal life, signs of motorcycle gang activities have been detected again in certain areas.

A National Police Agency official emphasized, “We will respond strictly to the reckless activities of two-wheeled vehicles that disturb peace on the roads through noise and disorderly traffic violations.”
