Opening of Guro-gu's 7th Smart Library 'NC Singuro Branch'

Unmanned Book Borrowing and Return System... Operating from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced on the 28th that it has installed its seventh smart library at NC Shingu-ro Branch and officially started its operation.

The smart library is a new concept library that supports residents' reading habits by installing an automated unmanned book lending and return system. The newly installed location is the passageway at Entrance 2 on the 1st floor of NC Shingu-ro Branch.

This location is only a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Guro Station, which has a high foot traffic, and is conveniently connected by passageways to the subway station and the 2nd floor of the main building of NC Shingu-ro Branch, making it easier to use the book lending and return services.

The NC Shingu-ro Branch smart library can hold about 400 books.

Using a 43-inch touchscreen monitor, it provides book search, lending and return, information guidance, and additional services. A separate touchscreen is installed at the bottom of the device for the convenience of disabled users and children.

Anyone who is registered with the Guro Integrated Library Lighthouse of Wisdom and holds a membership card can use the service.

The operating hours are from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. However, it does not operate on the days when NC Shingu-ro Branch is closed.

A Guro-gu official said, “By using the smart library, you can easily and conveniently obtain the books you want to read without visiting the library in person,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create a pleasant reading environment.”
