Applications Available for Language and Certification Exams Taken After January 1 This Year for Youth Under 39
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will implement the 'Job Seeking Activity Support Project' starting in March, which provides young people with various language and certification exam fees as well as, for the first time nationwide, congratulatory bonuses for acquisition and employment.
This project was established to alleviate the economic burden of job-seeking activities for the youth, who make up 32% of Dongjak-gu residents, and to enhance their employment competitiveness.
In particular, it is the first in the nation to link incentives not only for exam fees but also for 'language and certification acquisition congratulatory bonuses' and 'employment success congratulatory bonuses,' through which the district presents a more advanced youth-centered welfare system.
The target group includes all unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 residing in the district as of the application date, and they can receive support for exam fees and congratulatory bonuses for language and certification exams taken after January 1 of this year.
The supported fields include 7 types of language exams and 540 types of certifications under the National Technical Qualifications Act, with no separate limit on the number of applications.
Exam fees are supported up to a maximum of 100,000 KRW, and congratulatory bonuses for acquisition are provided in Dongjak Love Gift Certificates up to 500,000 KRW, varying according to the type of exam and the grade under the National Technical Qualifications Act.
Additionally, the district will provide an extra 100,000 KRW in Dongjak Love Gift Certificates to youth who successfully obtain a certification and secure full-time employment, supporting their future as they reach the employment finish line.
Youth wishing to receive support funds can download the application form and other documents from the district website announcement starting March 4, fill them out, and submit them by visiting the Noryangjin Youth Job Center located on the 2nd floor of the Dongjak Employment Support Center (140 Noryangjin-ro) or by email.
The district plans to open an online window on the Noryangjin Youth Job Center website in May to facilitate convenient applications.
Furthermore, the district is implementing various policies this year to more intensively support the youth. Representative examples include ▲ free accident insurance enrollment for youth in military service ▲ health checkup support for single-person households ▲ operation of the largest-scale 'Youth Intern' program among autonomous districts.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “This project is expected to encourage young people’s motivation for job seeking and provide practical help in preparing for employment,” adding, “We will continue to develop policies to solve housing, employment, and startup issues for the youth, making the district a reliable partner in their lives.”
