Daedong Hospital (Director Lee Kwang-jae) conducted the ‘2024 New Nurse Training’ over one night and two days starting from the 26th in the 10th-floor auditorium.
This training consisted of various programs combining both theoretical and practical education, including basic knowledge and job training that new nurses should possess.
The Nursing Department at Daedong Hospital operates a separate nursing education team and is committed to strengthening specialized nursing education and cultivating excellent nursing personnel through programs such as dedicated nurse training for integrated nursing care service wards and essential medical nurse training by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Organized by the Nursing Education Team, this training aimed to help new nurses adapt to an unfamiliar environment, with a total of 45 new nurses participating.
Starting with an encouragement speech by Director Lee Kwang-jae, the sessions proceeded in the following order: ▲ Patient rights and duties, nursing ethics (Head of Nursing Department Jeong Mi-jin) ▲ Hospital introduction, service regulations, salary and welfare system (Deputy General Manager of Management Support Park Jeong-hoon) ▲ Personal information protection and security (Deputy General Manager of IT Choi Seong-woon) ▲ Medical quality improvement and patient safety (Head of Quality Management Team Lee Jeong-mi) ▲ Infection control (Head of Infection Control Team Kim Ja-young) ▲ Industrial safety and health, fire safety (Safety Manager of Industrial Safety and Health Office Yoon So-ra).
Additionally, professional job training was conducted covering courteous service, fall management, pressure ulcer management, medication nursing, intravenous therapy and practice, nursing records, sterilization and supply management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and injection practice.
Lee Kwang-jae, Director of Daedong Hospital (specialist in endocrinology), expressed in his welcoming remarks, “I sincerely welcome the new nurses who are taking their first steps into society during these challenging times. I hope you will participate wholeheartedly in this training to gain a sense of mission and an opportunity to grow alongside the hospital as a member of our team.” He added, “Daedong Hospital and senior nurses will always listen to the opinions of new nurses and provide unwavering support to help them adapt well to the hospital.”
New nurse Jo Hyuk-jun, who attended the training, shared, “Although I am a new nurse with many shortcomings beyond the theoretical knowledge learned within the school environment, this training has given me a precious time to take pride in being a member of Daedong Hospital.” He continued, “I will always strive harder than others for patient and customer satisfaction and do my best for my own growth and the hospital’s development.”
The new nurses who participated in the ‘2024 New Nurse Training’ will begin working in their assigned departments sequentially from March 4. They will also take mandatory legal education courses such as the 4th cycle basic training for medical institution accreditation scheduled for the second half of 2024, workplace harassment and sexual harassment prevention, mandatory reporting of child and elder abuse, medical social work, and disability awareness improvement, according to Daedong Hospital’s annual education plan for 2024.
