CU "Walk Together and Donate to Descendants of Independence Patriots"

Walking Donation Campaign with Big Walk
Up to 13 Million KRW to Be Donated

On February 27, BGF Retail announced that its convenience store chain CU will launch a walking donation campaign in partnership with Big Walk to support the descendants of independence patriots in celebration of the 105th anniversary of the March 1st Movement.

Customers who wish to participate can use the Big Walk app, which is accessible through CU’s own commerce app Pocket CU, to donate their accumulated steps-whether by walking or running-to the "Let's Walk Together, Korea with CU" campaign. After participating, they can also share their donation certificate on social networking services (SNS).

If the campaign achieves its goal of one billion steps and 310 certified Instagram posts, CU will donate 10 million KRW and Big Walk will contribute 3 million KRW, for a total donation of 13 million KRW.

The funds raised will be delivered to Habitat for Humanity Korea, a nonprofit organization dedicated to housing welfare, and will be used to improve the living conditions of the descendants of independence patriots.

To encourage customer participation, CU has prepared a variety of prize events. First, every 10 days (March 10, 20, and 31), 31 customers who donate 100,000 steps will receive a 10,000 KRW CU mobile gift certificate. In addition, during the campaign period, the 31 customers who donate the most steps will be entered into a draw to win various walking-related prizes, such as an Egogin walking machine, a Melkin stepper, and a Melkin three-level step box.

Furthermore, 111 customers who upload their walking donation certificate issued by Big Walk to Instagram with the required hashtags (#함께걷자대한민국 #CU삼일절 #CU캠페인) will have the chance to win a GoPro action camera, CU mobile gift certificates, and other prizes.
