On the 26th, Sacheon City in Gyeongnam conducted a suffocation disaster prevention training for 60 officials in charge of departments with confined spaces and representatives of contracted companies managing these spaces at the Sacheon City Hall Civil Defense Training Center.

Confined spaces are locations with risks such as oxygen deficiency, suffocation due to harmful gases, fire, and explosion, including facilities like water supply and sewage systems, wastewater treatment plants, drainage pumping stations, incineration facilities, and water tanks.


On this day, Lee Sang-wook, a safety manager from Gyeongsangnam-do, provided training on the definition and types of confined spaces, the dangers associated with confined spaces, case studies of confined space accidents, measures to take during confined space work, and how to establish confined space work programs.


A city official stated, “Through education on safety rules during confined space work, we will do our best to prevent safety accidents and serious disasters caused by suffocation and to create a safe working environment.”
