LG Electronics is expanding its premium TV market presence with a 'dual track strategy' by simultaneously launching the 2024 models of OLED TVs and QNED TVs. Starting in the domestic market, the company plans to sequentially introduce new products equipped with enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) processors to the global market, thereby strengthening its position.

LG Electronics announced on the 26th that it will officially launch the 2024 models of LG OLED TVs and QNED TVs starting from the 13th of next month. The core feature of the 2024 LG TVs is a new processor with significantly enhanced AI performance. Based on the improved AI deep learning capabilities, the TVs deliver clearer picture quality and richer spatial sound.

65-inch Wireless OLED Launch... Alpha 11 Applied to Enhance AI Features

Leading with the world's first wireless transparent OLED TV 'LG Signature OLED T,' scheduled for release within the year, LG Electronics will continue its 11-year streak as the number one OLED TV brand by offering a diverse lineup including the 'LG OLED Evo (series names: M4/G4/C4),' 'standard OLED TV (B4),' and lifestyle OLED TVs such as 'Pose' and 'Flex.'

LG Electronics is adding a 65-inch model to the wireless OLED TV (M4) lineup, which last year consisted of 97-, 83-, and 77-inch models. Additionally, the AV wireless transmission solution applied to the wireless OLED TVs has been upgraded this year to support 4K at 144Hz. Notably, to enable smooth viewing of content requiring fast screen transitions, the entire OLED Evo lineup this year has received NVIDIA G-Sync certification for 144Hz variable refresh rate support, the first in the industry.

The Alpha 11 processor applied to the 2024 LG OLED Evo (M4/G4) series boasts AI deep learning performance four times greater than last year's Alpha 9 processor. It provides more precise pixel-level correction within frames and features real-time upscaling of OTT content such as Netflix. After analyzing the screen, it also adjusts colors to better convey the creator's intent. Furthermore, two additional channels dedicated to ambient sound deliver richer spatial audio.

The domestic shipment price for the 2024 LG OLED TV starts at 3.59 million KRW (B4) to 4.89 million KRW (G4) for the 65-inch model. For the 77-inch model, prices range from 6.5 million KRW (B4) to 9 million KRW (G4). The wireless OLED TV M4 will be released domestically in June. LG Electronics plans to conduct pre-sales for products launching early from the 13th of next month.

Meet the 98-inch QNED TV

LG QNED TV is a premium LCD TV that uses quantum dot and NanoCell technologies to express colors accurately and richly. Among the LG QNED TV lineup, the 'LG QNED Evo' models equipped with Mini LED include an 8K model (QNED99) and 4K models (QNED91/90), along with standard QNED TVs (QNED85/80).

Among these, the QNED91/90 models offer 64 times higher contrast expression than standard LCD TVs, allowing for precise differentiation of contrast levels in images. To achieve this, they are equipped with the Alpha 8 processor, which has 1.3 times stronger AI performance compared to the previous generation (Alpha 7). They also deliver rich spatial sound with an enhanced 9.1.2 channel system compared to the previous 5.1.2 channels.

Reflecting consumer demand for large-sized, premium LCD TVs, LG Electronics will launch the 98-inch QNED TV for the first time this year. The standard QNED TVs (QNED85/80) feature the thinnest design among LG's LCD TVs, enhancing harmony with living room interiors and space efficiency.

The domestic shipment prices for LG QNED TVs range from 3.19 million KRW (QNED80) to 4.49 million KRW (QNED91) for the 75-inch models, and from 4.59 million KRW (QNED80) to 6.19 million KRW (QNED91) for the 86-inch models. The 8K model (QNED99) is priced at 9.29 million KRW for the 75-inch and 11.4 million KRW for the 86-inch.

Expanded Application of Evolved webOS

LG Electronics enhances personalized service experiences through its smart TV platform, webOS. Using AI, it distinguishes voices of family members to provide tailored service experiences for each individual. The 2024 LG smart TVs support Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast, allowing users to seamlessly continue enjoying content viewed on smartphones on the large TV screen.

The company operates the 'webOS Renew Program,' which provides webOS upgrades for five years so users can experience annually evolving webOS features. In the first quarter, webOS upgrades will be expanded to all 2022 OLED TVs, lifestyle OLED TVs such as Pose, and QNED Evo 8K models.

Park Hyung-se, head of LG Electronics' HE Business Division, said, "The 2024 LG OLED TVs and QNED TVs are equipped with more powerful AI processors and a more advanced webOS platform. We will provide global customers with an overwhelming viewing experience that cannot be found on other TVs."
