"For the sake of the vulnerable, legal action starts now"
In fact, Lee Su-jin, a member of the National Assembly who was effectively excluded from the primary (cutoff) and left the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 25th that she would take legal action against the hardline supporters of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung who have been sending her malicious text messages. Lee, a former judge, entered the National Assembly by running as a 'recruited talent' in Dongjak-eul during the 21st general election.
On the same day, Lee posted on Facebook, "To those of you who support Lee Jae-myung and send false malicious texts, I hope you will stop sending unreasonable text comments even after misunderstandings have been cleared up," and warned, "From now on, I will track you down to the end and take firm legal action." She continued, "I have endured this for several days, but it cannot continue like this," and explained, "Quite a few people have committed suicide due to unfair and violent comments or texts, and there will be more such tragic deaths in the future, so I will act for the sake of the vulnerable."
Lee claimed, "In my constituency, starting with the public opinion poll by Kim Eo-jun aimed at weakening the Democratic Party, polls excluding me, an incumbent lawmaker, have been circulating continuously, causing the party members' anger to explode," and added, "Also, strange polls have been circulating nationwide, and unfair tricks by close aides of the party leader have been detected." She then criticized, "At the party meeting, I strongly criticized the leadership, saying that if they continue like this, they will lose the Seoul election, but the leadership did not change at all."
Lee stated, "When there was a last chance for the leader, I chased after him saying that prosecutorial reform must be done, but he said it could be done through the fast track, and the opportunity was missed," and revealed, "I also gave advice while delivering evidence about the corruption and unfairness of the leader's close aides." She added, "In the meantime, after seeing the Baekhyeon-dong ruling, I was disappointed and was going to declare my resignation, but I waited a few days because those around me advised that I could not betray the party members in my constituency first," and continued, "And as expected, I was cut off."
It was also reported that on the 24th, Lee engaged in a heated exchange with the leader’s hardline supporters. On the leader’s fan cafe 'Jaemyung's Village,' a post titled 'Look at Lee Su-jin’s text reply' was uploaded. According to the photo of the text message revealed by the author, the author said, "I used to support you a lot, Assemblywoman. Please come to your senses and stay strong. Don’t hate our leader too much, and have a good day." In response, Lee replied to the author, "Your leader threw me aside, but don’t you see the people who have been wronged by the leader at all?"
