Divorce Lawsuit Filed After 3 Years of Reconciliation
Agency States "Reason for Divorce Is Private Life"
Actress Hwang Jung-eum (39) hinted at her husband's infidelity through Instagram.
When a netizen commented on social media, "I understand Lee Young-don hyung. Honestly, if you are capable and rich, one woman is not enough," and "If you can't understand a rich man cheating, then you shouldn't date him," Hwang Jung-eum directly refuted, saying, "I have 1,000 times more money. What do you know to say that?" and "Then since I earn more money and am better, it makes sense that I am the one cheating."
Hwang Jung-eum also left comments such as "Did I know he was a cheater when I dated him? I didn't know, that's life," "I held back once too. It was the first time I ever held back," "Are you Lee Young-don?", and "I hope you get a divorce and enjoy yourself."
On the 21st, Hwang Jung-eum unusually posted five consecutive photos of her husband on Instagram. In the posts, she wrote, "My husband who married me and has been living busily and happily," and "You must have been very busy all this time, now relax and enjoy."
She also wrote on a photo of her husband with their child, "When our oppa had hepatitis A and was sick," and in the comments, she added, "He has caught a lot now, so he might ramble," and "If you think carefully, he must have met about 400 people."
Hwang Jung-eum acknowledged her relationship with professional golfer and businessman Lee Young-don in 2015 and married him in 2016. The couple had their first son in 2017. They faced a marital crisis after submitting a divorce mediation application in September 2020, but in July 2021, they announced their reconciliation, stating, "During the divorce mediation, the two understood each other's positions and decided to continue their marriage through deep conversations." They welcomed their second son in March 2022.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum's agency Y1 Entertainment stated, "After much consideration, Hwang Jung-eum has decided that it is no longer possible to maintain the marriage," and added, "Divorce proceedings are underway."
They continued, "We ask for your understanding that details such as the reasons for the divorce cannot be disclosed as they are private," and earnestly requested, "Please refrain from creating speculative rumors and sensational reports that damage the reputation of the parties and their children."
