Buan Coast Guard Protects 'Safe Jeonbuk Sea'... Cooperation with 35th Division for Integrated Defense

Buan Maritime Police Station (Chief Seo Young-gyo) visited the 35th Division (Division Commander Oh Hyuk-jae), responsible for regional defense in Jeonbuk, on the 23rd to strengthen coastal surveillance and integrated defense cooperation systems.

On the 23rd, after completing discussions on coastal defense and strengthening the integrated defense cooperation system in the Jeonbuk region, a joint commemorative photo was taken with Buan Coast Guard and the 35th Division.

According to the Maritime Police on the 24th, this is the first time in 8 years since the opening of Buan Maritime Police Station that the chief has personally visited the 35th Division.

During the visit, they discussed cooperation on integrated defense as well as joint inspections of vulnerable areas to foreign affairs crimes such as smuggling·illegal immigration, procedures for identifying unidentified vessels at night, and establishing a system for rapid mutual situation dissemination.

They paid tribute at the bust of the late Captain Kim Beom-su, who died shielding a grenade dropped by a trainee with his body while performing instructor duties in 2004.

Chief Seo Young-gyo stated, "Together with the military as one team and one voice, we will strengthen the integrated defense cooperation system and create a safer Jeonbuk sea."
