Former YTN Anchor An Gwiyeong, Strategic Nomination
The Democratic Party of Korea's strategic nomination of Ahn Gwi-ryeong, a full-time deputy spokesperson, in Seoul Dobong-gap has sparked attention due to her past remarks about Representative Lee Jae-myung.
After news of Ahn's nomination was announced, a video featuring her on the Dong-A Ilbo YouTube channel 'Gigutgigut' in the program 'Boksujadeul' from last February, where she conducted a 'World Cup of Ideal Looks,' has been spreading widely on online communities.

When the host asked, "Lee Jae-myung vs. Moon Jae-in," Ahn answered Lee Jae-myung, and she also chose Lee Jae-myung in the matchups against Cho Kuk and Cha Eun-woo. The cast expressed surprise at her choice of Lee Jae-myung even over Cha Eun-woo, an idol and actor.
Ahn, a former YTN anchor, currently appears on the YouTube show 'Kim Eo-jun's Humility is Difficult News Factory,' operated by Kim Eo-jun.
The Dobong-gap district, where Ahn was nominated, is the constituency of In Jae-geun, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker who recently announced she would not run again. In has served three consecutive terms since being elected in the 19th general election.
