DifferAI and Aijicland Develop 'Neuromorphic' Chip... "Will Expand Application to Solution Business"

DifferAI, an AI fabless (semiconductor design) specialized company, announced on the 23rd that it has successfully completed the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's national project 'Neuromorphic Semiconductor Chip and Module Development' and is now proceeding with the commercialization of the solution. The national project was led by DifferAI, with participation from Taiwan's TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) design house, Aisicland.

The semiconductor chip developed by DifferAI through the 'Neuromorphic Semiconductor Chip and Module Development' project is a next-generation semiconductor applying AI technology. DifferAI carried out the project aiming to develop an intelligent semiconductor supporting video and multi-sensing functions by equipping a low-power, lightweight AI accelerator.

DifferAI's neuromorphic technology can detect faces based on video, recognize eye status, and recognize driver conditions using heart rate and temperature sensors. In the national project, DifferAI succeeded in ▲producing a demo version of the SoC (System on Chip) ▲building a driver monitoring system ▲developing user applications based on Android and workstations.

In the project evaluation, DifferAI achieved excellent results in all 11 evaluation items, including ▲face detection ▲face direction recognition ▲driver condition recognition accuracy ▲module power consumption.

A DifferAI official stated, “We successfully secured the technology by exceeding the quantitative goals of the next-generation semiconductor neuromorphic development project by applying our own AI technology,” adding, "The help and efforts of the participating company Aisicland were significant during the project execution."

He added, "Following the development of an excellent neuromorphic semiconductor through the project, we have received letters of intent to purchase from various companies," and "We will strive for the rapid commercialization of solutions applying AI semiconductor chips."

Meanwhile, CEO Lee Sangheon of DifferAI recently joined the management team of Truewin while continuing cooperation to build a disaster prevention platform. CEO Lee Sangheon plans to actively pursue the AI semiconductor new business with Truewin.
