HIP, a magazine channel introducing hip-hop and various music genres along with culture, fashion, and lifestyle, has signed a management service contract with the artist fulfillment service company ARTISTS FULFILLMENT SERVICE (AFS), CTM (CULTURE THINK, CEO Jin-gyeom Kim).
HIP operates channels such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and functions as a creative studio handling everything from content planning to shooting and production.
Focusing on Korean hip-hop news and delivering trendy issues, HIP, which has 620,000 followers, participated as the official media for RAPBEAT 2023, a music festival hosted and organized by CULTURE THINK last September, achieving explosive viewership.
CTM, which signed the management contract with HIP, is the largest artist fulfillment service company in Korea, providing type-specific management services and expanding its service scope not only to musicians but also to media channels, attracting attention.
A CTM representative stated, “We will prioritize the qualitative and quantitative growth of HIP through professional management services,” adding, “We will actively continue linking with the existing services provided as an artist fulfillment service company and accelerate the development of original content.”
Along with signing the management contract, HIP changed its channel name from ‘Guknae Hip-hop Gallery’ to its current name, showing about a 30% increase in followers.
Moreover, beyond simple reporting, HIP has successfully renewed itself as a lifestyle magazine representing the MZ generation by producing original content and collaborating with various artists and brands.
Meanwhile, CULTURE THINK organizes solo concerts for various artists such as CHANGMO and Giriboy and hosts the large-scale music festival RAPBEAT every September. This year, it announced the return of BUZZER BEAT FESTIVAL, Korea’s only street culture festival, after about five years. The lineup includes hip-hop artists like E SENS, BewhY, and CHANGMO, as well as artists from various genres such as Dasutt, Samuel Seo, and g0nny, generating significant buzz.
The BUZZER BEAT FESTIVAL is scheduled to take place from Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 14 at KBS Arena and the Second Gymnasium.
