Gangnam Festival Wins 12th Korea Festival Content Award

A Festival Showcasing K-Content Exclusively in Gangnam, Recognized for Excellence as a Leading Festival Attracting 600,000 Visitors Last Year

Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong)'s representative festival, the 'Gangnam Festival,' received the 12th Korea Festival Contents Award at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall in Seoul on the 22nd.

Organized by the Festival Contents Association, this competition is the first domestic festival contents awards ceremony held since 2013 to promote pride in the festival industry.

The Gangnam Festival, held from October 5 to 9 last year, was planned as a global festival that consolidated Gangnam's cultural tourism resources, including ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Gangnam Fashion Festa ▲Maru Park Green Concert ▲Yeongdong-daero K-POP Concert ▲International Peace Marathon ▲K-Culture Stage with Gourmet Travel, attracting 600,000 domestic and international tourists.

Selected as one of the 'Top 100 K-Tourism Events' to shine during the 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gangnam Festival has once again established itself as a representative festival of Korea where excellent K-Culture can be enjoyed through this award.

Earlier, on January 19, Gangnam's tourism information website 'Visit Gangnam' was selected as an excellent media service public and local government website at the A.N.D. Award (Awards For New Digital Award).

This competition is the largest digital industry awards ceremony in Korea, hosted by the Korea Digital Enterprise Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The renewed Visit Gangnam website last year received high evaluations for its readability, aesthetically excellent design and layout, and multilingual website development.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "We will plan tourism content that can only be enjoyed in Gangnam and strengthen differentiated tourism marketing by country to successfully promote this year's Gangnam Festival." He added, "In the future, as we enter the era of 20 million tourists, we will lead the attraction of domestic and international tourists as Korea's representative tourist city."
