Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has launched prompt snow removal operations to minimize the inconvenience caused to residents by the overnight snowfall.
The district issued Snow Removal Measure Level 2 from 4:30 PM on the 21st and maintained an emergency duty system throughout the night. To ensure residents’ safe commute, 28 pieces of equipment were deployed and snow removal agents were spread on major roads.
On the morning of the 22nd, Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi presided over a snowstorm response situation assessment meeting to check the status of snow removal operations. Mayor Ryu instructed, “We will mobilize all available personnel and equipment to carry out snow removal swiftly.”
Accordingly, the district deployed 512 personnel to quickly clear sidewalks, alleys, and other areas, responding promptly to residents’ inconveniences.
They also carefully inspected vulnerable snow removal areas such as the hill roads of Manguri and Saeugae, as well as underpasses. Storage boxes for snow removal agents such as calcium chloride, salt, and eco-friendly deicers installed at vulnerable points were also checked. In particular, road heating wires installed on slopes and automatic brine spraying devices at vulnerable points were activated to ensure the safety of vehicles and pedestrians.
To prevent road congestion and accidents caused by freezing, snow removal was carried out on main roads, and snow removal operations are ongoing on hiking trails and walking paths of Yongmasan and Mangusan, as well as decks and parks.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “We prioritize the safety of residents and will ensure safety throughout the region to prevent unexpected accidents. We also ask residents to actively participate in clearing snow in front of their homes and stores for everyone’s safety.”
