Gwanak-gu Offers Free Health Checkups for Single Young Adults on Saturdays

Gwanak-gu, Seoul, which has the highest proportion of single-person households and youth population in the country (Mayor Park Jun-hee), has decided to operate health checkups for young single-person households on Saturdays as well. Gwanak-gu, with a population of 500,000, has a youth population ratio of 41% and a young single-person household ratio exceeding 63%.


Since April last year, the district has been conducting weekday health checkups for young single-person households aged 19 to 39. Starting this year, the checkups will be held on Saturdays, May 24 and June 22, at the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center, and in the second half of the year, a 'Visiting Metabolic Syndrome Test' will be operated at the Gwanak Youth Center and Sillim-dong Three-Room. The examination items include a total of 46 types such as hepatitis A, B, and C tests, thyroid function test, liver function, kidney function, triglycerides, and total cholesterol, and the checkups are free of charge.


Any young single-person household resident registered in Gwanak-gu can apply. To apply, no separate reservation is required; just bring your ID and resident registration certificate and visit the Health Management Center on the 2nd floor of the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center. However, fasting is required from 10 p.m. the night before the examination.


Test results can be conveniently checked by visiting the health center or online, and if there are any abnormal findings, consultation is available at the clinic on the 2nd floor of the health center. For more details, please contact the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center.
