Jangheung-gun, Promotion of Local Specialty Product Consumption as Return Gifts for Hometown Love Donation System

Last Year, 2,475 Cases and Over 140 Million Won in Return Gifts Provided

County Governor Kim Seong: "We Will Develop Unique Return Gifts to Promote Local Economic Revitalization"

Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, is playing a significant role in revitalizing the local economy through specialty products provided as thank-you gifts for the Hometown Love Donation Program.


According to the county on the 22nd, in 2023, the Hometown Love Donation Program raised 2,966 cases totaling over 570 million KRW, and 2,475 cases of thank-you gifts worth over 140 million KRW were distributed.


Among the thank-you gifts, set products such as Bulgogi and Shiitake Mushroom sets, mixed grains sets, and Korean Beef Brisket and Seaweed sets were highly popular. Jangheung Musan Gim and Shiitake Mushrooms, which are nationally famous, were also frequently chosen by donors.

In particular, the newly launched thank-you gift set worth about 30,000 KRW targeting donors who contributed 100,000 KRW showed remarkable progress in 2023.


The Bulgogi and Shiitake Mushroom set achieved sales of 27 million KRW, the Gochujang set and mixed grains set each recorded 5 million KRW, and the Korean Beef Brisket and Seaweed set reached 4 million KRW in sales.


Among existing products, handmade bamboo charcoal for camping saw sales grow from 1.3 million KRW in 2022 to 6.78 million KRW in the first year of the Hometown Love Donation Program, marking a 504% increase. Jangheung Shiitake Mushroom powder also increased by 342% compared to 2022.


Jangheung-gun plans to continue promoting win-win cooperation with local producer groups, processing, and distribution companies to prepare thank-you gifts.


They expect to increase local residents' income by developing home meal replacement products and mixed set products by price range that reflect donors' demands and trends, thereby encouraging more participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program.


County Governor Kim Seong said, “We will continue to provide distinctive products as thank-you gifts to improve donor satisfaction and revitalize the local economy, aiming to achieve both goals simultaneously.”
