Signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Investment Agreement
On the 22nd, Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the creation of the Cheongsong-gun Smart Agriculture Promotion Complex Cultural District at the county office's Future Leap Room with Korea Everyfarm (CEO Kim Myung-seop), Star Road Asset Management (CEO Lee Hye-won), Korea Future Agriculture Research Institute (Director Kim Dae-hee), Agricultural Corporation Mannasiea (CEO Jeon Byung-tae), Tegabm (CEO Lee Jong-hyuk), and Samsin General Construction (CEO Moon Hong-guk).
Korea Everyfarm and its partners plan to establish a large-scale smart farm complex cultural district in the Jinbo-myeon area of Cheongsong-gun. The total project cost of 250 billion KRW will be fully funded by private investment.
The smart agriculture promotion complex cultural district to be developed will include advanced agricultural production facilities, automated processing and distribution systems, as well as ancillary facilities such as cafes and restaurants, covering an area of approximately 9.9 hectares.
From agricultural production to consumption and experience, the district will create jobs for local residents and attract external tourists, thereby significantly contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
To ensure stable project progress, the initiative will begin with a 0.9-hectare aquaponics facility (combining fish farming and hydroponics) to enhance promotional effects and derive operational methods suited to local characteristics. By 2025, plans include establishing and operating smart farms (such as vertical cultivation facilities), plant cafes, processing facilities, and experience and education centers.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “With the signing of this MOU for the smart agriculture complex cultural district project, we will actively support the development of the smart farm industry tailored to the characteristics of Cheongsong-gun. We will do our best to secure a future agricultural hub in response to the rapidly changing agricultural environment.”
