On that day, the head of the Life Safety Traffic Division at Jindo Police Station actively encouraged the prohibition of jaywalking and the wearing of seat belts and helmets, along with recent cases of traffic fatal accidents involving farm tractors and motorcycles.
In particular, they actively promoted the establishment of a pedestrian safety culture for the elderly by utilizing promotional videos featuring singer Song Ga-in.
A representative from Jindo Police Station stated, “Active cooperation from life support workers is essential for the safety of elderly people, who are vulnerable road users,” and added, “We will do our best to prevent fatal traffic accidents involving the elderly by actively promoting community-based traffic safety education.”
