K-Weather is experiencing a sharp rise on its first day of listing on the KOSDAQ.

As of 9:59 AM on the 22nd, K-Weather was trading at 20,550 KRW, up 13,550 KRW (193.57%) from the reference price of 7,000 KRW.


K-Weather, the largest private weather business operator in South Korea, started its weather data business in 1997. As of 2022, it recorded approximately 17 billion KRW in sales and an operating profit margin of 4.1%. Recently, alongside its weather big data platform, it has established its own air quality monitoring network covering about 30,000 indoor and outdoor locations nationwide, creating an air big data platform that collects air quality big data.


Jongseon Park, a researcher at Eugene Investment & Securities, said, "As weather has a significant impact on both domestic and international economies, demand for K-Weather’s weather big data platform is increasing," adding, "The three areas of K-Weather’s data, services, and products are expected to synergize and sustain stable performance growth."
