Jungjingong Innovation Growth Committee Discusses Measures for Restoring SME Dynamism and Innovation Growth

7 New Advisory Committee Members Appointed

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 22nd that it held the '2024 1st Small and Medium Venture Innovation Growth Committee' meeting. The Small and Medium Venture Innovation Growth Committee is an advisory group of SBC aimed at diagnosing SME and venture business policies and suggesting directions for innovation. Notably, this year, the advisory committee was newly composed of key figures from various fields, including entrepreneurs in national core industries and future strategic industries such as materials, components, digital, and AI, as well as experts in finance, industry, and exports.

Kim Jong-oh, CEO of FelixTech, was appointed as the chairman, and seven members were appointed, including Kim Go-hyun, Executive Director of the Korea International Trade Association, Kim Geum-ja, CEO of Rollpack, Lim Jae-hwan, CEO of Ubion, Jang Min, Senior Researcher at the Korea Institute of Finance, Choi Chan-wook, CEO of Auto&Co, and Choi Hyun-kyung, Head of Industrial Policy Research Division at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade.

Amid concerns over a global economic slowdown and ongoing management burdens on SMEs and ventures due to high inflation and high interest rates, SBC held this meeting to explore support measures for restoring the dynamism and innovative growth of SMEs and ventures, in line with the government's economic policy goal for this year of a 'vibrant livelihood economy.'

At the 1st meeting held that day, advisory members suggested innovations in SBC’s core projects as well as policy services and regulatory reforms that customers can directly experience.

Chairman Kang Seok-jin stated, "While we have focused on supporting companies to overcome survival crises during the complex crisis so far, this year we will concentrate all the institution’s capabilities on enhancing corporate vitality and restoring dynamism. We will prepare support policies that respond to the government’s national goals for realizing a dynamic economy centered on SMEs and ventures and the needs of the SME and venture business field, and execute them professionally and efficiently."
