On the 22nd, heavy snowfall in Seoul and various parts of the metropolitan area has caused road closures and delays in subway operations.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, 13.8 cm of snow had accumulated in Seoul as of 7 a.m. that day. A heavy snow advisory was issued for the entire Seoul area starting from 8 p.m. on the 21st. The heavy snow advisory is issued when snowfall is expected to accumulate more than 5 cm within 24 hours.
Due to delayed snow removal operations, the snow that fell overnight has frozen, leading to continued road closures and delays in the operation of Seoul Subway Line 5 trains.
