Choi Woo-sik, Former Supporting Actor, Now Film Critic Role
Online video service (OTT) Netflix announced on the 22nd that it will produce a new series titled 'Melomovie,' starring actors Choi Woo-sik and Park Bo-young.
'Melomovie' depicts a movie-like time where ambiguous youths who want to love and achieve their dreams discover each other, inspire one another, and overcome their traumas. It aims to deliver laughter and emotion through a page of youth writing their dreams and love while putting down the wounds and traumas they each carry. The series is directed by Oh Choong-hwan, who directed dramas such as 'Diva on an Uninhabited Island,' 'Big Mouth' (2022), 'Start-Up' (2020), and 'Hotel Del Luna' (2019), and written by Lee Na-eun, who penned 'Our Beloved Summer' (2021).
Choi Woo-sik plays the role of Go Kyum, a minor actor who becomes a critic. He loves movies so much that his dream is to watch every film in the world. In Go Kyum's eyes, Kim Movie, whose name he finds intriguing and likable like the rules of a romance film, appears. Park Bo-young portrays Kim Movie, a character who enters the film industry with a mixed feeling of love and hate toward her father, who valued movies more than himself, and curiosity about "what exactly movies are."
Lee Jun-young plays Hong Si-jun, a genius who prides himself on his talent but is actually an unknown composer, and Jeon So-nee plays Son Joo-ah, his ex-girlfriend and a screenplay writer.
