Integrated Online and Offline Response... Productivity Increased More Than Twice
CJ Logistics has established an integrated logistics center for the global brand Crocs. It is explained that logistics efficiency can be significantly improved by utilizing CJ Logistics' infrastructure.
CJ Logistics announced on the 22nd that it has built Crocs' integrated logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
This center was created by consolidating Crocs' logistics centers, which were previously dispersed in two locations in the metropolitan area, into a total floor area of 20,000㎡. It can now handle up to 50,000 boxes per day, doubling the previous capacity.
It is expected to become an integrated logistics center covering about 90 offline stores nationwide as well as online shopping. By optimizing the flow, it can handle both offline stores that ship large quantities at once and online shopping malls that receive many small orders. It can also respond to surges in volume due to discount events or seasonal demand.
CJ Logistics has incorporated automated sorting technology into the integrated logistics center. For 8,000 Crocs products ranging from shoes to accessories, CJ Logistics applied its self-developed automated sorting system called 'MAAS.' Accordingly, the task of sorting products by delivery destination and moving them to the appropriate shipping boxes is handled by about 50 mini AGVs that look like robotic vacuum cleaners, doubling productivity compared to before.
Another strength is that CJ Logistics' own infrastructure allows for product storage, packaging, and delivery all at once. This is also the reason why CJ Logistics is already responsible for Crocs' logistics in four Asian countries (Korea, India, China, and Singapore).
Yoon Jin, head of CJ Logistics' FT Division, said, "We plan to strengthen cooperation with Crocs in the Asian market centered on the integrated logistics center."
