On the 22nd, Samsung Electronics announced that starting from the end of next month, the Galaxy AI features applied to the Galaxy S24 series will also be available on models released last year through the One UI 6.1 software update. The supported models include the S23 series (S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra), Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series (S9, S9 Plus, S9 Ultra), totaling nine models. Detailed update schedules may vary by device and feature.
With this update, users will be able to use features such as 'Chat Assist' and 'Live Translation,' which support translation in 13 languages and changes in message tone. In addition, new features like 'Circle to Search,' which offers a new search method through collaboration with Google, 'Note Assist,' which summarizes complex texts simply and easily, and 'Browsing Assist,' which translates and summarizes internet pages into the desired language, will also be added.
Photo editing features based on Galaxy AI will also be available. Creative photo editing is possible through the 'Generative Edit' feature, which fills in parts of photos or deletes/moves objects using generative AI, and the 'Edit Suggestions' feature, where AI analyzes photos and recommends editing tools.
For video viewing, the 'Instant Slo-mo' feature allows users to watch recorded videos with natural slow-motion effects. However, this feature is not supported on the Galaxy S23 FE.
An AI-based 'Generative Wallpaper' feature is also expected to be supported.
Notae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics MX Business Division, said, "Starting with this update, we will equip over 100 million Galaxy devices with Galaxy AI within this year and open up infinite possibilities for mobile AI."
