Charlie Wooz's Son Challenges Professional Stage Charlie Woods

The PGA Tour announced on the 21st (local time) through its official website that "Charlie has been listed as a participant in the first qualifying round of the PGA Tour Cognizant Classic held in Florida, USA, on the 22nd." The first qualifying round is an 18-hole stroke play. Charlie's tee-off time is 7:30 AM. The Cognizant Classic will be held over four days starting from the 29th in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Born in 2009, Charlie has appeared alongside Woods in the PGA Tour family event, the PNC Championship, but has not played in a regular tour event. Last September, Charlie tied for 17th place in the boys' 14-15 age group at the Nota Vegei III Junior Golf National Championship.

To advance to the main tournament, he must finish in the top 25 in the first qualifying round to earn a spot in the Monday qualifier next week. In the Monday qualifier, where more than 100 players compete, he must rank 4th or higher to qualify for the main event. If Charlie secures a spot in the Cognizant Classic, he will enter the PGA Tour for the first time in 15 years and 21 days. Woods made his tour debut at Riviera Country Club at the age of 16 years, 1 month, and 28 days in 1992.
