'Protectors of Residents' Daily Life' Gyeongnam Police Agency Mobile Patrol Unit and Criminal Mobile Unit Inauguration Ceremony

The joint inauguration ceremony of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency Mobile Patrol Unit and Criminal Mobile Unit was held on the 21st at the Jeong Byeong-gwan Auditorium of the Provincial Police Agency.


According to the Provincial Police Agency, the Mobile Patrol Unit operates with two squads: 97 members in Changwon and 90 members in Jinju, organized into 24 teams with 7 to 8 members per team.


They flexibly establish work plans based on crime prevention and response strategy meetings and security demand analysis, and are intensively deployed to crime-prone and densely populated areas to conduct comprehensive activities such as community-based policing, disorder control, and support for major incidents.

The Criminal Mobile Unit prioritizes "protecting the peaceful daily lives of the people" as its main task, with 91 members divided into three teams responsible for alleviating public anxiety and securing public safety.


They handle urgent and highly necessary areas related to citizens' lives, including investigations of violent crimes, organized crimes, various social issue-related livelihood infringement crimes, malicious fraud, drug-related crimes, and group and organized crimes.


At the joint inauguration ceremony, 187 members of the Mobile Patrol Unit and 91 members of the Criminal Mobile Unit attended.


Chief Kim Byung-woo stated, “The newly established Mobile Patrol Unit and Criminal Mobile Unit will concentrate experienced personnel in densely populated places, areas with concerns about crimes against women, and high-crime areas to suppress the crime atmosphere in advance and maximize visible security activities. We will focus all security capabilities to protect the daily lives of the residents.”
