Studio Mir, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 21st that "Star Wars Visions 2," which it participated in producing, won the "Best Episode - Animation" award at the Lumiere Awards hosted by the Advanced Imaging Society (AIS).
The Lumiere Awards marked its 14th edition this year. The awards are given to works that have achieved excellence in advanced technologies such as 3D implementation and real-time rendering used in film and animation production. Jim Chabin, president of AIS, praised the winners of this year's Lumiere Awards for expanding the boundaries of content production technology and enriching storytelling methods.
"Star Wars Visions 2," which won the Best Episode - Animation category, is the second Star Wars series released on Disney Plus last year. Representing Korea, Studio Mir produced episode 5, "Journey to the Dark Head." The anthology series features animation studios from nine countries worldwide, each responsible for producing different episodes.
Other winners at this year's Lumiere Awards included Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Universe, and Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning.
