On the 21st, Mayor Oh received a report on emergency medical measures from Lee Hyun-seok, director of Seoul Medical Center, toured the regional emergency and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular centers to check emergency medical response procedures, the status of medical services for visiting patients, and encouraged the medical staff. He then visited the wards to comfort hospitalized patients and their guardians who were worried about disruptions in treatment and promised continuous medical service provision.

Present at the site were Choi Ho-jung, floor leader of the People Power Party in the Seoul Metropolitan Council, Kang Seok-ju, chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and Kim Tae-hee, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Citizen Health Bureau.

Earlier, on the 6th, Seoul City formed an emergency medical countermeasures headquarters starting from the 7th following the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s issuance of a 'caution' alert for health and medical disaster crisis. If the crisis alert is raised to the 'severe' level, the city plans to respond to general patients through the emergency medical system of public medical institutions and extended treatment at public health centers, and reduce treatment gaps for emergency patients by activating the emergency medical institution emergency medical system.

At the site, Mayor Oh said, "There must be many concerns among patients, guardians, and other citizens due to the recent participation of medical personnel in the strike. As a public medical institution, Seoul Municipal Hospitals will continue to prioritize citizen safety above all else and strive to minimize medical personnel shortages and provide normal medical services so that citizens do not experience inconvenience under any circumstances."

He added, "I hope the medical staff will do their best to care for patients who cannot receive treatment at private hospitals in emergency situations as much as possible."
