The ‘TF for Discovering Key Cooperation Projects in Inter-Korean Exchange’ aims to identify inter-Korean exchange cooperation projects at the local government level in accordance with the ‘Amendment to the Act on Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation,’ preparing for the era of peaceful unification in the future.
Composed of 12 members (with the vice county governor as chairman), the TF envisions establishing a foundation for promoting inter-Korean exchange cooperation in Jangheung-gun. Its goals include securing sustainability in mutual exchange and cooperation across academic, cultural, athletic, and economic fields, including humanitarian aid, and fostering a community consensus on unification.
The main tasks reflect the opinions of county residents from the survey, including ‘agricultural food processing and convergence industry,’ ‘traditional medicine exchange linked to the Integrated Medicine Expo,’ and ‘inter-Korean sports exchange.’
County Governor Kim Seong said, “It is important to ensure the sustainability of projects through gradual and phased promotion using local resources as a medium,” adding, “We will seek a path of sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation with North Korea at the local government level.”
