Visit to the Construction Site of Busan Internal Circulation Urban Expressway
Kim Yunsang, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, visited the construction site of the Busan Internal Circulation (Mandeok~Centum) Urban Expressway on the 21st to check the progress of the project.
Vice Minister Kim visited the construction site located 60 meters underground, observed the progress of the work, and encouraged the construction personnel.
He also listened to the difficulties faced at the site and urged thorough on-site inspections and schedule management to ensure safe construction and timely opening.
The Busan Internal Circulation Urban Expressway is Busan’s first deep tunnel project, designed to underground the heavily congested section of the road, reducing travel time from around 40 minutes to 10 minutes, thereby improving travel convenience.
The government plans to execute 2.7 trillion won in the first half of the year, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year, to ensure that social overhead capital (SOC) investment acts as a catalyst for economic recovery. Additionally, for new construction projects, it will actively utilize systems such as advance compensation fund payments.
