'Dr. Slump' Ranks 6th, 'Sejak' 10th
The drama 'Sarinja Onangam' continued its strong performance into its second week after release. According to Netflix on the 21st, it recorded 5.5 million views (the number of views divided by the total runtime of the work) from the 11th to the 18th. It ranked in the top 10 in 43 countries including South Korea, France, Japan, Canada, Australia, Bolivia, Morocco, and Hong Kong, securing the number one spot in the global non-English TV category.
This marks a one-step rise from second place in the second week of this month (5th to 11th). The previous leader, 'Baby Bandito,' failed to maintain momentum and dropped to 7th place (1.8 million views). Second place went to 'Ninja's House' (4.2 million views), third to 'Good Morning Veronica Season 3' (3.5 million views), and fourth to 'These Guys Season 2' (2.6 million views). 'Doctor Slump,' starring Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik, ranked 6th (1.8 million views), while 'Sejak, the Enchanted Ones,' starring Jo Jung-suk and Shin Se-kyung, took 10th place (1.3 million views).
'Sarinja Onangam' is a crime chase drama depicting the story of an ordinary man who accidentally starts killing and the detective who relentlessly pursues him. Directed by Lee Chang-hee, who helmed the film 'Vanishing Night' and the drama 'Strangers from Hell,' it uniquely adapts the webtoon of the same name that deals with 'Crime and Punishment.' Actors Choi Woo-sik, Son Seok-gu, and Lee Hee-joon compellingly portray characters on the boundary between good and evil, adding strength to the series.
Meanwhile, the number one spot in the global non-English film category went to 'Abyss' (6.9 million views). 'Wilderness,' which held the top position for three consecutive weeks until the second week of this month, dropped to 7th place (2.5 million views).
