Make Your Urban Farmer Dream Come True!… Yeongdeungpo-gu Offers 340 Household Garden Plots for Free

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it is recruiting 340 households of urban farmers to cultivate vegetable gardens on public land in Mullae-dong.

The vegetable gardens established on the public land in Mullae-dong provide a space where people of all ages can enjoy healthy leisure activities by growing and harvesting various foods and experiencing nature right in the middle of the city.

Additionally, the location is highly accessible as it is close to Mullae Station on Line 2.

A total of 340 households will be selected, with each household allocated a garden plot of approximately 6㎡. The gardens will be operated for eight months from April 1 to November 29. From April to September, the gardens can be used freely from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from October to November, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In particular, the district provides basic farming tools such as hoes, shovels, and watering cans at the Mullae-dong public land gardens, along with convenience facilities including restrooms and pavilions, allowing residents to use the space comfortably and without burden.

The application period is from February 28 to March 13, and any resident of Yeongdeungpo-gu can apply. However, one member of the household must apply as the representative, and duplicate applications from household members are not allowed.

Residents wishing to participate can apply through the ‘Integrated Reservation’ section on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website or visit the Regional Economy Division in the annex building of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office on weekdays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. with their ID and a mobile phone registered in their name to submit their application in person.

The winners will be selected through a random computerized draw on March 15, conducted in the presence of a randomly selected resident representative to ensure fairness. The results can be checked on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website at 4 p.m. on the same day, and only the winners will be individually notified via text message.
