Songdo Solbat to Yeongildae Beach, 30,000 Steps and 24km Barefoot Walking Event Held On the 18th, the Barefoot School Pohang Branch held the 'Challenge 30,000 Steps · 24km Barefoot Walking' event, walking from Songdo Pine Forest to Yeongildae Beach.

This event was held to promote the Pohang Barefoot 30 routes, where participants can walk while enjoying the forest and the blue sea, and to publicize the upcoming '2nd Korea Barefoot Walking Festival' scheduled for the end of May.

On the day of the event, about 60 participants of various ages gathered and walked barefoot along a 24km course starting from Songdo Pine Forest, passing Songdo Beach, and ending at Yeongildae Beach, enjoying a special experience of healing in beautiful nature while maintaining their health.

In addition, a pre-inspection of the course was conducted to prepare for the Korea Barefoot Walking Festival, along with a Beach Combing campaign where participants walked barefoot along the coast collecting various types of trash.

The Korea Barefoot Walking Festival, first held last year, was successfully conducted at Songdo Pine Forest with the participation of over 3,000 club members nationwide. This year, interest in barefoot walking has increased compared to previous years, and more visitors are expected to attend.

Kim Eung-su, head of the Green City Project Group, said, "As a city leading barefoot walking, we will thoroughly prepare to ensure the safe hosting of the 2nd Korea Barefoot Walking Festival."

Pohang City is continuously expanding barefoot walking infrastructure by newly opening loess trails in areas with many barefoot walkers such as Songdo Pine Forest and Haedo Urban Forest. The city aims to spread a healthy walking culture among citizens and build an eco-friendly city image through barefoot walking festivals and community formation via barefoot trails.
