Pro-Moon faction lawmaker Yoon Young-chan, who was notified that he was included in the bottom 10% of legislative activity evaluations?effectively a 'cutoff'?has pushed back, pointing out the 'nomination massacre.' Kim Young-joo, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, declared his withdrawal from the party, labeling his inclusion in the bottom 20% as a 'stigmatization by the anti-Moon faction,' and non-Moon faction lawmaker Park Yong-jin has announced plans to request a reconsideration, as the controversy over 'Sacheon (私薦)' is spreading.
On the afternoon of the 20th, Yoon Young-chan held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office to reveal that he had been notified of being in the 'bottom 10%' and protested. He said, "The nomination massacre by the non-Moon faction and the targeted nomination to oust specific individuals do not only negatively affect the targeted parties," adding, "If this continues, the Democratic Party may face a historic defeat in this general election for which it cannot avoid responsibility."

He also criticized the 'assassin movements' by pro-Moon figures. He said, "A year ago, lawyer Hyun Geun-taek, who claims to be pro-Moon, came to Jungwon-gu and mocked me and local party members while eating 'subak' (watermelon)," adding, "He resigned just a month ago amid a sexual harassment controversy." He continued, "Recently, another pro-Moon lawmaker, Lee Soo-jin (proportional representative), suddenly declared her candidacy for Jungwon-gu, saying she would 'protect Lee Jae-myung's heart,' despite being on trial for allegedly receiving illegal funds from Lime's Kim Bong-hyun," criticizing her decision.
He went on, "If such situations are left unattended and tolerated, a shadow of defeat in the general election will fall over all Democratic Party members," raising his voice, "The secretive, Sacheon, sniper nominations and exclusion politics happening now fundamentally destroy the Democratic Party and are no different from handing over the general election victory to the Yoon Seok-yeol administration." In particular, he said, "Is the Democratic Party's goal in this general election to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, or to complete the personal fiefdom of leader Lee Jae-myung?" and warned, "If it is the latter, then thoroughly crush Yoon Young-chan."

Right after the press conference, Yoon told reporters, "I was only told in a general way that I was in the bottom 10% according to the party's nomination screening results without any specific explanation," adding, "If there is not much difference in the quantitative evaluation, then everything must have been decided by the qualitative evaluation, so that should be disclosed."
He also criticized, "The nomination screening criteria are not being disclosed accurately," calling it "a factional nomination that only saves and rescues certain faction members."
