Joo Myung-geon, Honorary Chairman of Sejong University, Presents 'National Land Renovation Strategy Paper to Overcome Low Birthrate'

Sejong University announced on the 20th that Honorary Chairman Ju Myung-geon published a paper titled "National Land Remodeling Strategy for Low Birthrate Countermeasures" in Uninomic Review.

According to the paper, constructing the Gadeokdo New Airport as a breakwater and dredging the Nakdong River for reclamation would actually generate an income of 260 trillion won. If this is set as a childcare policy fund, the population issue can be resolved through government support, similar to France.

Connecting Gadeokdo and Dadaepo with a breakwater and reclaiming 86 km² (about 26 million pyeong) south of Gangseo-gu would increase the flat land area of Busan by 20%. Dredging an average of 10 meters along the 337 km from the Nakdong River estuary to Mungyeong would produce about 2.7 billion cubic meters of dredged soil. Selling 83% of this, which is aggregate, would secure approximately 23 trillion won in funds, and the remaining 17% of soil can be used as reclamation soil. Completing the Gyeongbu Canal in this way would make Busan a global logistics hub.

Honorary Chairman Ju emphasized, "Through the national land remodeling strategy, we must take responsibility for remodeling the nation and, furthermore, for uniting and prospering the world."
