DGB Daegu Bank Enhances Internal Controls by Advancing Compliance Monitoring System

Appointment of Executive Director Lee Yoo-jung as External Compliance Officer
"Strengthening Internal Controls in Line with Transition to Commercial Banks"

DGB Daegu Bank announced on the 20th that it will strengthen internal controls and establish an advanced system in preparation for its transition to a commercial bank.

To build an internal control management system, Lee Yoo-jung, Executive Director, was appointed as the Compliance Officer this month. Director Lee is a lawyer in the Daegu region with experience serving on various committees in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas. She plans to enhance the bank’s legal expertise to solidify the internal control system.

The bank is gradually establishing an advanced system for systematic improvement and company-wide compliance enforcement. First, it completed the personalized authentication system project. Starting from the new year, employees access internal systems using a strengthened biometric authentication method. The same system will be expanded and applied to all other systems except major systems by June.

They are also implementing the ‘Internal Control Team Leader’ system by operating dedicated internal control personnel in each regional headquarters. Additionally, the group internal control system ‘iM All Right’ was established to improve efficiency through the digitization of group internal control tasks.

Bank President Hwang Byung-woo said, “We are appointing a new Compliance Officer and introducing specialized systems to establish an advanced internal control system in the new year. We are making efforts to enhance employee responsibility through the establishment of an internal control system for customer trust, and we will ensure that a strong internal control system operates effectively to fully prepare for the transition to a commercial bank.”
