Service in 5 Administrative Districts in Incheon Following Seoul
Senior Customized Service... Financial Education to Prevent Voice Phishing
KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 20th that it will expand the operation of the ‘KB Senior Lounge’ to Incheon to alleviate financial exclusion among the elderly caused by rapid digitalization.
Launched in July 2022, the ‘KB Senior Lounge’ is a mobile branch that provides financial services by visiting welfare centers frequently visited by the elderly using a large van. Until now, it has been operated targeting five administrative districts in Seoul with a high elderly population (Gangseo, Guro, Nowon, Eunpyeong, Jungnang).
The newly expanded service areas are five administrative districts in Incheon (Namdong-gu, Michuhol-gu, Bupyeong-gu, Seo-gu, Jung-gu), selected comprehensively considering the proportion of the elderly population and the status of nearby branches.
KB Kookmin Bank visits the following locations weekly: on Mondays, ‘Yeonhui Senior Cultural Center’ in Seo-gu; on Tuesdays, ‘Gwangyo Senior Welfare Center’ in Michuhol-gu; on Wednesdays, ‘Bupyeong Southern Senior Cultural Center’ in Bupyeong-gu; on Thursdays, ‘Namdong-gu Senior Welfare Center’ in Namdong-gu; and on Fridays, ‘Jung-gu Senior Welfare Center’ in Jung-gu. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with dedicated staff assisting with services frequently used by seniors, such as ▲cash and check deposits and withdrawals ▲passbook reissuance ▲pension receipt.
Additionally, in cooperation with welfare centers, financial education programs related to the prevention of financial fraud and voice phishing are conducted to ensure the safety of financial transactions for the elderly. A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “With the expansion of the ‘KB Senior Lounge,’ we expect that more seniors will be able to conveniently handle banking tasks without visiting branches, improving financial accessibility and convenience,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to coexist with financially marginalized groups such as the elderly and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
