Third-Party Integration Fails... Lee Jun-seok "Devastated We Can't Join Saeroun Mirae Together"

Lee Nak-yeon Resignation from Reform New Party Press Conference on the 20th
Lee Jun-seok "Overconfidence in Managing Unmanageable Issues"

Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform New Party, said on the 20th, "I sincerely apologize to the public with a heavy heart that the New Future led by Representative Lee Nak-yeon, who declared party unification, can no longer be together just 10 days after the declaration."

At a press conference held at the National Assembly Communication Office that afternoon, Lee said, "There are many things I need to reflect on. I wonder if I was overconfident in thinking I could manage what was unmanageable, if I was arrogant due to excessive self-assurance, or if I carelessly judged the hearts of the most precious people."

He added, "At least today, rather than making grand promises about the future, I humbly offer my reflections to the public," and explained, "Now, I will get to work. The Reform New Party will prove itself with quality policies and clear messages."

Lee pledged, "To provide better and new options to voters disappointed with the hostile symbiotic relationship between the two major parties, the Reform New Party will continue to make sincere efforts with a humble attitude."

He said, "Although we are moving in the same direction, I hope many good things lie ahead for Representative Lee Nak-yeon and the members of New Future, who will now work separately."
