Diverse Events Including Attractions, Activities, and Food
A festival where you can drink Gorosoe sap infused with the spring atmosphere of Jirisan and take care of your health will be held in Sancheong. Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that the "17th Jirisan Sancheong Gorosoe Sap Festival" will be held on the 25th.
Hosted by the Sancheong Gorosoe Association, this festival will take place at the Sancheong Dried Persimmon Distribution Center in Sicheon-myeon. The festival opens with a sacred water ritual praying for the well-being of Sancheong residents and expressing gratitude for the harvesting of Gorosoe sap.
The ritual is conducted on a special stage within the event venue, and after the ritual, various events such as a commemorative ceremony, pungmul (traditional Korean percussion music) performances, and invited singer concerts will follow. In particular, events that visitors can directly participate in, such as the Gorosoe Sap Drinking Contest, Gorosoe Injeolmi (rice cake) Making, and singing contests for residents and visitors, are prepared to add more fun to the festival.
Along with this, various events that satisfy the five senses of tourists will be held, including selling Jirisan Sancheong Gorosoe at a 20% discounted price.
Lee Seung-young, president of the Sancheong Gorosoe Association, said, "This year, due to the large temperature difference between day and night, the highest quality Gorosoe sap is expected to be produced," and added, "We hope you visit the festival to feel the atmosphere of Jirisan and the deep taste of Gorosoe sap."
Meanwhile, Sancheong Gorosoe grows naturally in the clean valleys of Jirisan at an altitude of around 1000 meters, making it clearer, cleaner, and sweeter than other regions, gaining attention as the highest quality nationwide. The county is producing hygienic Gorosoe sap that preserves nutrients and taste by distributing sap purifiers equipped with ultraviolet sterilizers.
