The Korea Technology Finance Corporation announced on the 20th that it is recruiting technology-holding institutions to participate in the '2024 Supply Technology DB Advancement Project.'

The Supply Technology DB Advancement Project identifies promising commercialization technologies from technology-holding institutions and produces and supports technical explanation materials necessary for technology transfer and commercialization to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

As a dedicated institution for technology transactions and commercialization under the Act on Promotion of Technology Innovation for SMEs, Kibo has been implementing this project since 2022 to promote technology transactions and commercialization for SMEs. Based on intellectual property submitted by over 40 institutions until last year, it has produced more than 1,900 technical explanation materials.

This project targets technology-holding institutions that produce technical explanation materials through external service contracts rather than in-house production. It plans to support production costs for about 400 materials to secure a supply technology database (DB) that demanders can understand more easily. Kibo will disclose the produced materials on its technology transaction platform, ‘Smart Techbridge,’ and provide customized technology matching services for demanders seeking technology adoption.

Universities, public research institutes, and technology holding companies can participate in this project, and institutions and companies wishing to participate can apply from the 26th until April 30th.

Kim Jong-ho, Director of Kibo, stated, “Kibo will actively support open innovation for SMEs by providing advanced materials so that SMEs wishing to adopt technology can easily and conveniently access promising commercialization technology information.” He added, “We will continue to expand the high-quality supply technology DB on Smart Techbridge to contribute to the revitalization of the technology transaction market.”
