Hong Jin-bae, the 4th president of the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), expressed his ambition to realize a digital leap forward at the inauguration ceremony.

On the 20th, IITP announced that it held the inauguration ceremony for President Hong at the IITP headquarters auditorium in Daejeon the previous day. President Hong's term is three years, from the previous day until February 18, 2027.
President Hong stated, "We will respond to the contemporary demands and roles enabled by digital technology and realize a digital innovation nation and a digital leap forward." Specifically, he emphasized the need for ▲ securing core digital strategic technologies and boldly innovating the research and development system ▲ nurturing top-tier talent such as master's and doctoral-level researchers and digital convergence experts ▲ enhancing global ICT R&D capabilities ▲ expanding R&D outcomes and strengthening follow-up support.
With the institution approaching its 10th anniversary of integrated launch this year, President Hong also urged responsible work execution at a global level based on expertise. He said, "Let us create a healthy organization where we do not stop challenging, simplify work processes, establish a performance reward system, and enjoy working. Let us also practice responsibility, integrity, and ethical attitudes together." He added, "I will do my best with a spirit of new challenges and innovation so that IITP can become the best ICT and digital powerhouse."
President Hong entered public service in 1995 after passing the 38th Administrative Examination. He has served at the Ministry of Information and Communication, the Korea Communications Commission, and the Ministry of Science and ICT. He graduated from Korea University with a degree in Trade and earned a master's degree in Information Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a doctorate in Technology Management from the University of Manchester.
